After the 1st of many times seein Dicky shred that guitar,i soon realized his playin was comin straight outta of his soul and heart right through his giutar,only one other guitar player ever did that to me his name is Jerry Garcia. R.I.P. Dickey Betts. This is my favorite Allman Brothers song. I bought cassettes of Eat a Peach and Joni Mitchell's Blue in the spring of 1972. They were my themes for that time in my life. I wasn't familiar with the Allmans, having been overseas in the Army until the previous summer. I was preparing to start graduate school on the G.I. Bill, and these two albums set the pace for my new start in life. I played Blue Sky over and over, played along on my guitar. The chords are simple, E to A, over and over. It was such a mellow time. It of course didn't stay that way, but I can relive those times any time by playing this song, this album, and much other music from those times. We had an embarrassment of riches.
